Request account deletion

You can ask us to delete your Vertu account and the personal information attached to it. Use the form below, or email privacy@vertu.co.za from the address on the account.

How do you use Vertu?

We never ask for your password. If we need to verify the request, we’ll email the address above.

What gets deleted

  • Your login and profile — name, email address, phone number.
  • Your access to any venue’s Vertu workspace.
  • Notification preferences and any message threads tied to your account.
  • Device sessions, so the mobile app signs out everywhere.

What we have to keep, and why

Some records cannot be deleted on request because South African law requires the venue to keep them. Where that applies we remove the link to your account and retain only the record itself:

  • Financial records — invoices, payments and refunds, retained for the period required by tax law.
  • Consent records — evidence of what you agreed to and when, which POPIA itself requires us to be able to show.
  • Completed bookings held by a venue as its own business record. That venue is the responsible party for its guest data; we act on its instructions.

If you booked as a guest at a venue rather than holding a staff login, tell us in the form — the venue is the responsible party and we will route your request to them.

How long it takes

We acknowledge every request and aim to complete deletion within 30 days. If we need to verify that the request comes from the account holder, we will contact you at the address you give us — we will never ask for a password.
